LAUREN RIORDAN
General Manager, Boston
“I count my blessings because that allows me to affirm the good in life.”
Lauren Riordan has had ample opportunities to do this during her twelve year career at ARBOR. “In college I knew I wanted to work with people who were less fortunate or had disabilities . . . I got a senior internship with ARBOR through a patient advocate organization and started in a direct care capacity.” Since that beginning Lauren has been through many aspects of the services that ARBOR provides. In an industry plagued by burnout of good professionals, Lauren has stayed committed because of ARBOR’s strong values and the times she has helped others “see that light bulb go off” when they connect with a client to make a difference or reach a milestone. “I’m a teacher at heart,” she confides, “and I am thrilled to be able to come into a job every day where I can help others learn and grow.” ARBOR’s staff definitely benefits from Lauren’s guidance when she acts as an expert advisor on client assignments or provides suggestions for career development.
Lauren’s twelve years with ARBOR include roles that span direct care giving, staffing supervision and office and technology management. As the Boston Branch GM and a leader for ARBOR, she is the liaison with provider agencies to strengthen effective and efficient service delivery.
Lauren received her BA in Social Psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Boston, MA.
